Off to a flying start… or not

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

I’m not sure if I messed up though for some reason my EA had a very quick loser when the Automated Trading Championship started.
Or maybe I messed something up in the last minute changeover to running on 1 minute time frames instead of 5 minutes. Oh well we’ll just have to wait and see and [...]

Revamping the blog

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

It’s coming up to 2 years since I last wrote on my blog… I feel it’s about time that I revamped the blog and started to post again.
I’m still trading and have built my live account to a small though reasonable level, I will post more about strategies that I’ve been working with and exploring.
I’ll [...]

Latest Progress Plus More…

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

It’s good when you make profitable trades, I’ve made a few the last couple of days which is great for morale… of course when there is a big trend it’s probably not that hard to take advantage of it…  One thing I have had a little bit of trouble with is coming in at the [...]

My Current Status

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

I’ve got some more cash in my forex trading account, still nothing huge, though at least if I do well I might make a little bit more money
My current status is that I’m not trading very often, my currency of choice is the EUR/GBP which is not really very volatile… meaning I need [...]

Progress

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

I thought I’d update on how my trading is going, since I made my last post, it did swing the way i was expecting which was good, as I made back all my losses and added about 1.5% to my starting capital I should mention that I’m using 1:20 leverage, so the 1.5% could [...]

Timing is Everything

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

OK, well maybe not EVERYTHING (you still need to make sure it’s going the right way), though it is extremely important when you are highly leveraged.
Since I’ve started working with real money I’ve lost money Luckily it hasn’t been a lot (I’m currently down by 1.44%). The main reason for my losses has been [...]

I’m Back

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

OK, been a damn long time since I last posted. I’ve been busy looking at other things (CFD’s, commodities and sports arbitrage) and doing some reading.
After all that I’ve made the plunge (I made a SUPER SMALL plunge) and have opened a live FOREX trading account. I say it was a super small plunge because [...]

Exploring Other Things

Posted by: Milton In: OLD Archives

I’ve been giving my FOREX trading a rest and have been playing with mechanical trading systems which I’ve developed using languages that I’m happy with (I’m not 100% happy with MQL4). I’ve mostly been running my mechanical systems over stocks. The stocks that I’ve been using as my test pool are the ones that Alpari [...]

About FOREX Howto

Forex Howto is a site that I setup some years ago, I neglected it for a couple of years and now it's back online.

It will have my progress as I explore the world of Forex trading and my experiences in trying to profit from it.

If you need to contact me, just leave a message on any of my posts and I'll be sure to read it.

About me: I'm a 31 year old aussie living in Sydney, Australia.

I work as a programmer and hope to someday use my programming skills and growing knowledge of FOREX and markets in general to run live automated trading systems (all going well they'll be profitable).

A couple of pages which might be of interest to new traders:
